The Building Owners and Managers Association of Greater Hartford, better known as Greater Hartford BOMA, is the leading professional organization dedicated to the needs of building owners, property managers, and trade professionals.
Our members are building owners, property managers, asset managers, corporate facility managers, leasing professionals, developers, and providers of commercial property products and services. They represent all commercial building types, including office, industrial, medical, mixed-use, government and corporate.
Greater Hartford BOMA offers a well-rounded program and activities schedule, giving members the ability to meet other business professionals in the real estate industry. BOMA programs offer the opportunity to exchange best practices and hear from industry professionals on timely real estate topics. Regular meetings include educational seminars, exclusive tours of new commercial developments in the region, and extensive networking opportunities. Our signature annual events include the Gus Johnson Memorial Golf Tournament, the Nine, Wine & Dine, and the year-end Holiday Social.
Greater Hartford BOMA is an affiliate of BOMA International, the oldest and largest association of the office building industry, with over 100 federated associations in the United States and around the world. We are a 501c(6) nonprofit organization.
OUR HISTORY
In December 1978, BOMA International recognized and accepted a local property management council. After two years of preparatory work, the council became known as the Greater Hartford Chapter of BOMA International, the first BOMA chapter in New England.
Since its inception, the Chapter grew from an initial 10 members to 163 members by the first quarter of 2004. In 1984 and 1986, the Chapter won the prestigious Diamond Award for strong growth.
Initially focused only in Hartford, Chapter membership now encompasses an area from Springfield, Massachusetts to New Haven, Connecticut.
Members of the Greater Hartford Chapter have been actively involved in BOMA International from the beginning and are well represented in the Middle Atlantic Conference, BOMA, BOMI, ROC and SORPA.
